We are dubbing 2021 “The Year of Resilience” and to commemorate it, and to kick off Sexual Assault Awareness Month, we are hosting an open mic! We know resilience shows up in many ways. Rest is resilience. Speaking up is resilience. Caring for community is resilience. And, yes, making it out of bed on days that is a challenge is resilience.
Join us on April 8th at 6:30pm CT for HEART’s Give Back the Mic Event, where you’ll have the opportunity to hear from performers about what resilience means to them. Special guest Nadia Khansa,–a poet, artist, trauma mental health therapist and author of Breathing in Spring–will open the evening up by sharing selected poems from her collection and lead us through a healing arts activity after the night’s performances. You don’t want to miss out!
Early bird tickets start at $5.00 and are available until 3/26 at 5pm CT. If cost is barrier and you’d like to attend, please email Aisha at aisha@heartwomenandgirls.org.
To register as a performer please indicate you’d like to perform where it asks in the registration form below. Once you submit your registration indicating you’d like to perform, we’ll send you an email with next steps!
We can’t wait to see you on April 8th!
