Hi! I used to be the student coordinator with HEART to help support with the Responding with RAHMA trainings that happened in 2019. I graduated from the University of California, Irvine with a degree in Public Health Sciences. I am currently at A.T. Still University ASDOH for Dental School.
I have led the effort in establishing the first HEART chapter on my campus when I saw gender-based injustices within my Muslim campus community. I have also been featured on National Public Radio disclosing my experience with childhood sexual abuse in hopes that the more secular #MeToo movement can include supporting the nuances of Muslim survivors who choose to come forward with their own stories.
I believe in a future where sexual abuse is eradicated and survivors of trauma are believed, supported, affirmed, and healed.
