Hi! My name is Kinza and I am a domestic violence attorney. I have been working with HEART for over a couple years now, and I have loved working with this team to help educate and empower Muslims and to have these important conversations in our communities. As a domestic violence attorney, my work overlaps in the world of social work and psychology, specifically trauma, and I am particularly interested in and constantly learning more about these in my advocacy work.
I went to DePaul University College of Law l where I focused on public interest law and had a fellowship at the International Human Rights Law Institute where I conducted research on the UN Convention of the Elimination of Discrimination Against Women. In law school, I also worked on cases of immigration, domestic violence, and civil rights. Before law school, I went to University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign where I studied international studies, Islamic world studies, and political science.
I was born and raised in Chicago and both my parents are Pakistani, immigrant psychologists. For fun and self-care I like to run, dance, write, travel, and I recently started photography!
